Analytics 101: Overview

If you're looking to gain a solid foundation in web analytics and specifically the Google Analytics tool, then this is the seminar for you.

What's Covered

Google Analytics 101 is an overview seminar that will take attendees through the definitions, interface and reports of Google Analytics. Attendees will get a foundational understanding of web analytics, how to read and interpret basic reports, and how to navigate and use the Google Analytics tool. In this seminar, you'll learn:

  • What is web analytics and how do tools like Google Analytics fit into a larger web analytics process
  • How to find insights in your piles of data
  • How to sign up for and manage your Google Analytics account
  • How to do the basic installation and configure your first goals
  • How to read and interpret reports & navigate the Google Analytics interface

Who should attend?

This is the first and most basic in the three part Seminars for Success Google Analytics series, and assumes no prior knowledge of Google Analytics. For those just getting started or intermediate users looking for a refresher or to fill gaps their in knowledge, Analytics 101 is what you're looking for.

What can I expect?

We keep these sessions fairly small to encourage questions and interaction. Our Seminar Leaders are first and foremost practitioners with experience implementing and consulting on the Google platform across a wide range of industry verticals, website goals and marketing objectives, and we encourage participants to ask the tough questions. Most seminars will have wireless Internet available, and although this is not a hands on "lab based" course, many past attendees have indicated they were glad to have a laptop so they could follow along in their own accounts.

Analytics 201: Analysis

Analytics 201 is focused on analysis, helping attendees learn how to use the data, reports and features of Google Analytics to identify actionable insights and improve their website and online marketing performance. Additionally, participants will learn the basics of statistical conversion testing with the Google Website Optimizer tool.

This is the final course in the Analytics series, and is focused on advanced features of Google Analytics and Website Optimizer as well as how to implement and configure their usage.
